Commission rate

Summary

A commission rate is the heart of every commission rule. It is a value and type pair that is used by RPM to calculate a commission. Commission rates are used in the schedules and addendums for gross and agent rates and in agency referrals.

Type

  • % net billed
  • % gross commission Agent rate & referrals only)
  • % margin
    • Pays a percent of the margin, which is the net billed minus the wholesale.
  • % wholesale
  • % contract val.
  • % agent comm. Referrals only
  • % (gross - agent) Referrals only
    • Pay the selling agent first, then pay a percentage of what is left over to the referral agent.
  • (% gross) - agent Referrals only
    • Determine a percentage of the gross comm and then pay what's left from that after paying the selling agent.

Precedence

There may be more than one commission rule that applies to an item, but only one rate can be used for the calculation:

  1. Item adjustment
  2. Account addendum
  3. Product addendum
  4. Account group addendum
  5. Account group schedule or rate
  6. Commission schedule
