Version

RPM 3.6 (http://rpmsoftware.com/rpm/?v=3.6)

Limited spec

This page is just an overview since this version was developed before the wiki was being used for documentation.

Goal

Help the RPM sales & support team. We'll do this with some features that provide direct functionality as well as information features to help the development team solve customer issues quicker and make a more robust application in future versions. So Wolf is "for RPM", but I think many customers will also find the features valuable. I know form copy & rep ID import are both features people have been asking for. And who won't appreciate faster views?

Key features

  • Rep ID import
  • Import In progress & force stop
  • Calculation, reconciliation, and synchronize forms In progress
  • Form copy

In progress

The "progress" work includes adding a status indicator and, where possible, an estimated time remaining. We're also doing a lot of work behind the scenes on these pages to make them handle multiple users and closed browsers better. For instance, now if you navigate away from an import in progress (or close your browser) when you return it will still be running.

Minor

  • View performance - Grid viewstate (make using a view faster)
  • Number format (money, percent) improvements
  • Username & password improvements

Time line

  • May 3, 2005 - Development begins
  • June 2 - Testing begins
  • June 6 - RPM using Wolf internally
  • June 27 - Deployment

Codename

We made the decision to stop new feature development and focus on improving RPM sales, support, and reliability. Since this version will only focus on that, I decided to give it a name outside of our normal Solar System naming scheme.
